The Road to Boudoir.
In a lifetime of taking photos of people, places and things, I found boudoir photography in 2010 and it warmed my heart—such an empowering experience for women. Shot boudoir a few years in Montana and also during trips to Alaska, Wisconsin, Washington State and New Mexico, right when the self-publishing phenomenon was born—so boudoir albums could become hardcover published books, each custom-designed, as are calendars.
The story that got me to here first came up through the ranks as an Alaska commercial fisherman and writer/photographer covering fishing for fishermen. Today, my photo style still favors natural settings, my shooting style borne of following the action or framing the photo to spot the great shot—that "magazine-cover shot." Alaska fishing was long ago and far away but informed the rest of my life as well as my photography.

After 3 years crewing on the back deck then capturing daily life of everyday people on the docks and boats, I learned to photograph people in their natural surroundings in the surrounding natural light—as I do now with boudoir.
